The open-circuit voltage test cell is not a conventional single cell used for energy storage and discharge, but rather a standardized test cell specifically designed for accurate and repeatable open-circuit voltage measurements. Instead, it is a standardized testing jig built purely to grab accurate, repeatable open-circuit voltage readouts without a bunch of guesswork. We went with a highly controlled chamber layout, used nothing but carefully picked inert materials, and locked down the assembly tolerances so researchers have a clean testing environment that strips away outside interference and isolates the actual, intrinsic traits of the electrolyte. It serves as a laboratory benchmark instrument for evaluating electrolyte SOC and diagnosing system imbalances.
